In the areas where you might feel like a zero, there lies the potential to become a hero. Achieving success without first knowing what it means to be a ZERO through God’s guidance can lead to arrogance, much like Lucifer
At the beginning of my ministry, when I started preaching, my congregation did not grow. I thought this was due to my preaching skills. I asked my spiritual coach if I could take some biblical classes, but he didn’t allow me. I believed that God was preventing me from improving my preaching. However, after three years, people began to be blessed by my messages.
If God had blessed me initially when my speaking skills were good, I may have thought that my success was due to my natural talent. Now, I realize it is not my gift of speaking that has made the difference; it is the power of the Spirit of God.
Whenever God brings you to a place of zero—like in financial trouble—you may soon become a hero in that area. However, remember to stay humble and not to use your blessings for selfish desires.
*Biblical Examples*
Take the story of Esther, the queen of Persia. She was an orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai. Throughout her childhood and into adulthood, she likely felt lonely and insignificant, wondering why God didn’t give her parents like other children.
In His infinite wisdom, God knew that if Esther had grown up with parents and had never felt their absence, she would not have had the strength to stand up for the Jews of Persia, who were facing annihilation due to the plot of Haman, their enemy (book of Esther)
Similarly, the Apostle Paul was educated under Gamaliel, a renowned law teacher. Initially, he persecuted Christians, as described in the Book of Acts. However, after an encounter with Jesus Christ, he was transformed. Despite his qualifications, Paul faced significant persecution during his missionary work. God made him “zero” through suffering, preparing him for his purpose.
Similarly, God prepared Moses for his mission by first bringing him low. He was once a prince in Egypt with political power, but when he attempted to save his people, God led him to Midian, where he lived a shepherd’s life. This time of being made zero was essential for him to one day become the hero who would free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.( book of Exodus)
*Practical Example*
I remember a boy with a beautiful singing voice who initially performed secular songs. When he was transformed by the love of Christ, he started worshipping while confronting some issues with his voice and throat. This was God’s way of helping him realize that his talent meant nothing without divine support. After this humbling experience, God began to use him mightily, granting him gifts of healing during his worship sessions.
