The Bible says in Romans 6:16: “Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey?”

Whenever the enemy seeks to capture you or lead you into sin, he exploits your habits or addictions. It’s important to note that the enemy is very patient, working slowly over time, even when many Christians lack such patience. This destructive strategy can derail great destinies.

Addiction is an uncontrollable urge or habit to do something or to be with someone, even when it is harmful to you. Subjugation refers to being under control or in captivity.

When a Christian becomes accustomed to any behavior and engages in it excessively, the Spirit of the Lord may intervene. This intervention occurs because that very behavior can lead to significant disasters.

The Lord warned King Solomon twice against worshiping idols (1 Kings 11:9-10). Satan was aware of this command, but instead of using idols directly, he worked subtly through Solomon’s lust and addiction to women. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:3). His addiction to foreign wives ultimately turned his heart away from God, leading him into subjugation and prompting him to worship the idols of his wives (1 Kings 11:1-5).

Despite being the wisest man on Earth, King Solomon failed to recognize the enemy’s trap.

Be very cautious about your addiction to watching small romantic scenes that may lead you to inappropriate websites and films.

Your daily conversations or meetups with smokers and heavy drinkers can entice you to adopt the same habits.

Even a casual chat with a friend of your spouse can easily spiral into a wrongful relationship that jeopardizes your family.

I advise you to confront these temptations at the very first sign. I believe that God speaks to His people through His Word and dreams, providing warnings that can help you avoid great mistakes.
