Matthew 26:41 (KJV) states, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Jesus Christ acknowledged the importance of prayer. He didn’t use it to gain power but to foster a personal relationship with God the Father. He recognized that our flesh often resists whenever we seek to be in God’s presence.
.
In Pakistan, 90 percent of believers and 80 percent of pastors admit struggling to maintain their regular prayer life. We must recognize that” our flesh can be more dangerous than the devil.”. When we attempt to pray, our flesh often resists, leading some to cite laziness or excessive involvement in worldly distractions. This resistance can delay our spiritual connection. To prepare for prayer, I recommend watching sermons, Christian films, or listening to Holy songs to ready your spirit.
*First Realm:* As you begin to pray, especially in the first hour, you might feel unmotivated. Your flesh resists, and suddenly, you might feel drowsy
However, after an hour of prayer, you can experience a shift and become active and engaged. Many people give up during this initial hour because of the struggle. In this stage, you should focus on thanking God and seeking forgiveness. This corresponds to the Tabernacle’s outer court, where people offered sacrifices and confessed their sins, aiming for reconciliation with God.
*Second Realm:* After a few hours of prayer, you enter a more profound space where you read God’s Word with devotion and intention. This time, your reading is not merely for information; you seek to discover deeper truths and to hear God’s voice through the scriptures. As your heart opens, you begin to feel the urge to rebuke the spirits of the devil by name. It’s essential to fill yourself with God’s Word and His presence first: you cannot effectively rebuke the enemy until you have that foundation.
“Don’t launch a fiery prayer at the devil until you are ready.”
*In the Third Realm*, you sit quietly to meditate on God. During this time, you may find yourself moved to tears, and your prayer requests begin to align with God’s will. Personally, I have experienced moments where I cried out, asking the Lord to fill me with His love and grace, desiring to reflect Him more in my life. I express my dependency on Him, saying, “Jesus, without you, I am nothing.”
Without reading the Bible, you may feel a lack of guidance and nourishment for your soul, leading to a sense of emptiness. Likewise, without rebuking the devil, you may fall prey to his attacks.
I encourage you to pray consistently for at least two and a half hours, one-tenth of your 24 hours. This time should be accompanied by Bible reading, worship, and rebuking the devil. This combination creates a powerful prayer
