The story of the three wise men (astrologers) who came from the East to Jerusalem to seek the new king of the Israelites “Jesus”, holds great significance. The Bible does not mention the names of these three wise men; they are simply referred to as the Wise Men. One brought gold, another myrrh, and the third frankincense.
Gold symbolizes the kingship of Jesus. Myrrh signifies that Jesus would die for all mankind, while frankincense represents Jesus as our high priest. Additionally, burning incense is a way to honor Jesus as God. This raises the question: how did the wise men know to bring gifts with such profound prophetic meanings related to Jesus’ future?
These three wise men are identified in the Bible by the gifts they presented to Jesus. By seeking the new king, they found their recognition in the Scriptures. Similarly, how do we identify or gain recognition in heaven and in the sight of the Lord? The answer lies in seeking the Lord through worship, prayer, fasting, Bible reading, and church gatherings.
In the Kingdom of Heaven, Father Abraham is recognized as the Father of Nations, and Paul the Apostle is identified as an apostle. Just as they found their places in the Kingdom of Heaven, we should also seek our recognition by pursuing a relationship with the Lord.
Six years ago, when I began seeking the Lord through prayer, I was uncertain about my calling and what God wanted me to do. However, after two years, God called me to His ministry. Now, I work as a pastor and believe that I am recognized as a pastor in heaven. Your calling conceals your recognition in heaven.
“Embracing the quest to seek the Lord is the cornerstone of fulfilling your earthly calling, leading you toward the glorious recognition that awaits in heaven.”
