In the Old Testament, particularly in 2 Chronicles, the lives of various kings exemplify what it means to walk in faith with Almighty God. Those who did good by obeying God’s voice and relying on His strength experienced favorable outcomes, whereas those who failed to trust in the Lord faced consequences.

In 2 Chronicles, chapter 13, we learn about King Abijah of Judah, who had 400000 valiant men in his army, facing King Jeroboam of Israel, who commanded 800000 chosen valiant men. King Abijah’s forces found themselves trapped between the armies of King Jeroboam. In their desperation, they cried out to the Lord. The priests blew the trumpet, and God granted victory to King Abijah, despite his army being smaller than that of his opponent.

A similar situation arose with King Asa. In 2 Chronicles 14:8-9, we read that King Asa had an army of 300,000 men from Judah, each equipped with bucklers and spears, and 280,000 men from Benjamin, armed with shields and bows. They faced Zerah the Ethiopian, who came against Judah with an enormous army of a million men and 300 chariots, reaching as far as Mareshah. King Asa turned to the Lord, declaring that there is nothing that can help between the powerful and the powerless except for God. His faith led to victory.

This message rings true today for many who struggle under the weight of debt and financial burdens. The enemy often deceives us into believing that the solution lies in working harder-juggling multiple jobs, sacrificing rest, and missing out on our spiritual commitments. Yet, despite our best efforts, financial troubles can spiral even further out of control because we fall into the trap of self-reliance instead of placing our trust in God.

In Chapter 16, we see the consequences of King Asa’s misstep when he relied on his own strength rather than on the Lord. This decision led to disappointment and failure, with enemies escaping his grasp.

Trusting the Lord can be challenging at first, but it ultimately brings peace and ease. Whenever we are in need, we should always remember to trust in the Lord. He fights for those who may feel outmatched by their financial struggles. If you place your complete trust in Him, you will find victory even when faced with daunting challenges
